No one built it.
After my cancer diagnosis in 2008, I stepped away from department store fragrances.
By 2010, I became a holistic health practitioner, and spent the following years teaching male clients to be discerning about what they put on their body.
When it came to clean cologne, there was almost nothing available for them. The category leaned heavily toward women. "Clean" options for men defaulted to overly herbal profiles or were indistinguishable from basic aromatherapy. When it was fine fragrance, it was unisex and wasn't specifically crafted for men.
I had worn the top of the line—Chanel, the department store counters, all of it. I understood how a fragrance should develop, wear, and hold presence on skin.
Men deserved a higher standard of cologne: non-toxic, fine fragrance without compromise.
So I built it.
